An Educational Fitness Program
Most people know they should and need to exercise, but don’t understand “how to” exercise and choose activities that are wrong for their needs and body. Specifically, they don’t understand that the body is interconnected – meaning that if there is an imbalance in one area, those imbalances filter to another part, affecting the body’s overall movement and stability. Muscle imbalances and movement issues develop into bad patterns and are often the reason for injury or decreased results, and are the root of chronic pain.
Movement is Therapy™ is an easy-to-follow educational fitness program that teaches the fundamentals of movement through simple exercise. These exercises address faulty movement patterns and begin to correct them, setting the path for success. The program’s mission is to improve overall health and well-being for individuals by providing the tools to begin a successful movement program.
The Movement is Therapy™ program workbook shows you “how to” move for your body, and “how to” correct faulty movement patterns and replace them with healthy ones, which then teaches you “how to” get the results you want. This carefully structured program begins with a postural and movement assessment and specific corrective exercises.
Each week’s session builds on the previous week’s training to encourage good habits. Upon completion of the six-week program, participants will have all the components of a well balanced fitness program, and will be confident to try new exercises and sports or engage in a more active lifestyle.
The Movement Is Therapy™ program comes with a workbook filled with photographs and tips, and is accompanied by an instructional CD that includes a 45-minute workout. These support materials present simple and clear instruction that address the following:
